An abundance of distinct fallstreak holes (cavum), also known as 'hole punch clouds', are formed when supercooled water droplets freeze into ice crystals and fall out, often triggered by a passing airplane. These classic examples were spotted over Prescott Valley, Arizona, US.

What an evocative sight!
I live not far from Woodford Airfield in Cheshire where I had the privilege of seeing the Memorial Fight at an air show, and it is indeed a very stirring sight to see these beautiful old aircraft still flying. So, thanks Ian!
Sadly the shows air show is no longer held at Woodford…. :o(
Thanks for comments, so glad you like the image, the flypast was just amazing to witness, there is no sound like it..I was in a great vantage point in the tower of The Old Hall Gainsborough….IanL..

I echo the previous comments. It is really lovely to see the RAF’s Battle of Britain Memeorial Flight’s Avro Lancaster, PA474, in flight over a so typical English scene. Well seen, Ian, and my many grateful thanks for this photo. I am sure it will give much pleasure to other viewers.
