    Dear Kevin,

Such an amazingly clear, beautiful night shot. So calm, serene and awe-inspiring.

The snowy mountains in the background adds to the character of your work, across the glass-like, calm body of water that shows up all the reflections of what is going on there. The aurora borealis up above the snowy mountains in the night sky looks like a fireworks display that we can all sit, watch and appreciate on a special occasion.

Lacunosus, a relatively rare and short-lived cloud formation, takes on the look of a honeycomb pattern of round holes with frayed edges. It is formed when a layer of rising warm air and a layer of cold air come into contact with one another, causing downdrafts that push through the cloud. This classic example was spotted by Alexia's friend, Bob Hunter, near Lexington, Virginia, US.
