While driving over the Bay Bridge with a few friends to go see the film 'Vertigo', which was filmed in San Francisco by Alfred Hitchcock in 1957, Reven conveyed that the clouds seemed to do battle amidst the skyscrapers, foreshadowing the vertiginous cinematic treat to come. This view was spotted from the Bay Bridge, San Francisco, California, US.

I recognise the view very well. Culver Cliff – the chalk cliff in the far distance leading to Bembridge – a small and attractive quiet village – is home to the only surviving windmill on the Island and, thankfully, preserved by our National Trust.
