One thought on “A banner cloud with ‘eyebrows’ over Khumbu Himal, Nepal.”

Those snow-capped Himalaya mountains over Khumbu Himal, Nepal look amazing, Michael!

The cap/banner clouds in the sky add to the dramatic scene that is to be portrayed to the viewer looking at this particular picture. With the clouds, I can see an arm and bent fingers of the hand, which looks like it is about to float over in the sky and grab the mountain with full grip and not let go. I can also see a person’s face that has a long nose, eye, hair and a wide-open mouth. I can’t see any eyebrows. From Rebecca Hill, Canberra, Australia

A vivid corona is spotted when the sun shines through a thin cloud and a bluish-white disc of light with a ruddy outer edge is on display, often surrounded by rings of iridescent colours. This classic example was seen by Cassie Eismann near Fort Scott, Kansas, US.

A colorful view of a storm system that is accentuated, as Jon describes, by the spots of rain on the car windshield. It adds to the "portal in time and space" vibe of this photograph, near Langfjordbotn, Finnmark, Norway.
