Good shot and well seen, Ken.
A very commendable shot, Mike. Well worth the getting up out of bed to witness this marvel, maybe over a nice cup of tea or coffee?
Indeed it was Laurence one never knows what to expect in the early hours and (tea) Laurence
I live just in front of the Madrid Airport seeing lots of aircratf landing and taking off everyday. I have seen only one very weak fallstreak in my life in this area. I do not think that they are generated by aircrafts crossing and breaking the clouds.
I think that is a fallstreak hole IMO. Anyone agree?
Definitely agree that it is a fallstreak hole. Never seen one as long as that before. Looks like an artist decided they’d made a mistake and it had beter be erased. Censored clouds, what next? :-)
Thanks for comments, would you agree that it is possibly a contrail induced one, I hesitated in designating it as I am waiting for further info from John Norris re this photo……..Ian L Aka Ed…..
Personally i think this was a fallstreak hole that i took, and i only wish i had taken the whole thing as it was nearly twice that length.I will leave the decision up to Ian.Thanks to you grizzly, granny and Ian for your comments.John
Thanks John and all for comments and assistance on this one, I have added it to the Fallstreak category, I am still convinced that it was triggered by aircraft exhaust for the reason as Granny Weatherwitch Jill noted, it is of unusual length, and as confirmed by John, was actually twice the length shown in the image.
