Ruth, Yes, itz all about lighting as to the weight of the picture. Contrast helps but to fill the clouds with light, goes back to Turner. Your last shot is some serious cloud. Im always taken by the passing silent drama of Asperitas.
Below is about how far I should go with low contrast and still see the asperitas

Thanks Hans and Keelin. Swirling Altcum gives plenty opportunity to produce duplicatus. My favorite is the last duplicatus photo session I had, no matter which kind of cloud i photographed. But they allow for a fun shoot. Here is more.
