ParticipantThank you for a beautiful launch to Volume VII, Michael! And so right you are about the images in Volume 6 which wrapped up with a not-to-be-missed ‘Color Glimpse’ by Hans.
Below, this twilight scene almost seems to feature two suns. Hmmm… what planet was I on?

ParticipantHans, your sunset is absolutely breathtaking with the little K-H on top of the cumulus. And Keelin and Michael, both wonderful cirrus species floating above. I believe I have to add on to the cirrus theme with…

ParticipantHans, it looks like there was no gravity on whatever planet you visited capture Purples. What a gorgeous vision!
And Gregory, I think your fine Fiery Fringes traveled some distance only to become snagged on a tree here.

ParticipantWhere to start with the new beginnings by Michael. Michael your 701 for me looks like the Grand Canyon, which brings back fond memories of hikes. 702 is soft and so appealing.
Keelin, of course there are two suns out there and those trees did catch your tasty candy.
Gregory, did you and Keelin get together on the same beauty of a pink sky?
Hans, I do love your colors in Purples. It is so exquisite. I finally found some grey- coral in Montana.

Here’s a shot from the other day that I particularly enjoy.

ParticipantI much prefer the pastels created by the sunrise with my back to the sun. There’s something magical about watching the color build then fade away. Gorgeous shots above, each with a different mood.

ParticipantKeelin and Gregory share the same theme with Fiery Fingers and Cotton Candy Caught showing trees trying to scratch or catch the reds in the sky. Very nice. Michael posted a wavy pattern of gentle colored dots together making a fantastic composition in Arizona Sunset #702, suggesting some mighty movement. Sheryl caught some very delicate colors opposite to the setting sun. And then there is this stunning January Alpenglow by Ruth. Breathtaking scenery with cray colors imo. Wow.

ParticipantWow! Michael, #702 and #703 are both just beautiful beyond words. Ruth, your January Alpenglow took my breath away. Gregory, The Opening is an irresistible invitation to begin either daytime or dreamtime. Sheryl, couldn’t agree with you more about the magic of watching the colors build and fade. Love the soft, enchanting hues you’ve captured there. Hans, your Mirrored has a painterly quality, so vibrant and crisp. I can almost hear the sea roaring in delight. Philip, a welcome to you as warm as your sun pillar. And Dondatella, love the streaks of contrasting colors, themselves in contrast with that wide skyful of dark/bright clouds. All in all, the photos above make for fantastic viewing any time of day or night.
Below, a slightly different take on this topic’s title theme. Here a bright sun rises above weeping clouds returning light and radiant warmth for all. To borrow a few familiar words: It’s been a long, cold, lonely winter… seems like (four) years since it’s been here…

ParticipantJust to add another sunrise and sunset, I always try to find a nice sky each day. Some days are better than most, it’s either a good day or don’t look above. Despite my trip to work where I’ve took these they sky above is always a pleasure.

For Keelin: it is nice indeed to welcome the sun. Your text urges me to quote the Stones: “And it sure been a cold, cold winter”. Great song. Although the next sun hereunder is setting he or she promises to be back tomorrow.

ParticipantSuch beautiful photos from everyone! While I haven’t much opportunity to post to this topic, I always enjoy seeing what everyone’s been sharing. Gregory, your sunset is like the quiet sigh as a good friend slips out of view. Ruth, in the soft blend of hues you captured in Just out My Front Door, I think you caught it at just the perfect moment before those luscious colors would have muddied, and Wine in the Water is an amazing shot. Hans, love the (clever) Moustache, and Leaving At Sunset really looks like that rosy curtain is coming down on the day. Michael, your pinks and blues absolutely shimmer.
I felt lucky to watch as this cloud appeared to release its spirit at the end of the day.

ParticipantDolphin’s delight is amazing and also a bit disturbing, Keelin. I feel I have to look at it from aside. Anyway a great and unusual composition with a buble stream. Flame Trower is also a great capture Rut. The dragon still has the fire in its belly. Let’s not wait for what has to come!
Did you have trouble postin Michael? Just a minute ago I had something alike. I logged out and logged in and it was solved. I hope it helps because I don’t want to miss something by you, like the subtle red rim on #724.

ParticipantLove the pink thread in AZ #724, Michael. The path of a Phoenix in flight?
And Flame Thrower is HOT, Ruth!
Hans, Edgy is fantastic! Mysterious and beckoning. And so glad to hear you liked the Dolphin image despite finding it also disturbing. I’d turned the camera to avoid power lines, so perhaps that added a queasy vertigo factor. Was that it? If so, glancing aside is probably wise. I for one am never without some Dramamine when asea!
Posting Problem: Yesterday and continuing this morning, I’ve had problems with posting to the ‘Looks Like’ topic, almost immediately after I had successfully added a new image and comment there. Logging out and in again has not solved it yet. Testing now to see if I can add to other topics.

Had to settle with the just wide angel to get the nimbus blow out. Delicate streamers , color shifts and extremes in highlites and shadows made for a bit of time processing the pics.
