This Q appears in BBC Focus Magazine, May16, Q&A section, page 87.
Luis Villazon (q.v.) replied: Yes. 2 million tons of bacteria, 55 million tons of fungal spores, an unknown amount of algae. They cause water vapour to precipitate impacting weather systems.
(Can’t find it on-line so just my rough notes).
