Northern Lights – north UK and Scotland – niche images

It is rather rare in the UK to be treated to Northern Lights but last Friday the lucky folk in the north of the UK and Scotland were treated to a visual spectacle.  I wish I had been there!  I’ve never seen such a vista!  I keep hoping …..

The very pleasing images were released onto the BBC’s Weather Watchers website today (8th September).

I believe we may have seen the same northern lights in northern Minnesota that night. Same color and shape. It would have been several hours later though. They were visible intermittently in the early evening.
