Lots of fun B&W in Vol20. Allow me to start off for another 100 photos , Vol21

Thanks for the great kick-off Michael for Volume XXI.
Between The Lines
July 5, 2022 at 7:15 am #539109
I like the mixed clouds of your Lines Hans, high contrast too!
July 6, 2022 at 9:56 pm #539322
Thank you Michael. Great contrasts in your #212 too. Beware for next one.
War Of The Worlds
July 8, 2022 at 1:26 am #539444
Thanks for the great launch, Michael, and I surely agree with Hans on #243 (near the end of Volume XX). What a splendid play of light and shadow. And #212 above really pops!
Hans, Between the Lines makes me smile. Those clouds look to be having fun gliding along at a good speed. And after seeing your beautiful Coral that closed volume XX, and your latest which reminds me of maybe an invasion of ocean jellies, I dove down into the archives here and discovered a photo from a couple of years ago. It was just a tiny bit of cloudy sky, and by the time I enlarged it to take a closer look, it too could have come from the sea.
July 8, 2022 at 8:56 pm #539530
Wars and Corals!! Thanks for the new volume, Michael.
Stunning glimpse in the skies everyone.
Small Crevice, Don’t Panic
July 15, 2022 at 5:20 am #540290
Nice work everybody!
July 19, 2022 at 11:29 am #540902
Fully agreed, Michael. And Cloud Coral has a true watery feel. Amazing. One can see it is an enlargement but it works perfectly. B&W does magic so I won’t panic about a nice Crevice Ruth.
Let It Snow
July 23, 2022 at 6:50 am #541367
July 23, 2022 at 8:34 pm #541454
Hans, what a grand capture in let it snow. Perfect title.

July 26, 2022 at 7:22 am #541997
July 27, 2022 at 4:08 pm #542139
Thanks Ruth. Puf And It Is Gone is a very applicable title for yours and other B&W’s. I keep coming back to Cloud Coral, keelin. It is a beauty. Love the diagonals in your latest #216, Michael.
July 28, 2022 at 6:33 pm #542251
Ruth, Puff and It’s Gone ~~ Yes, but it shall not be forgotten now that we can see it time and again thanks to your timely capture.
Michael, could your #216 be someone with their head in the clouds? A clever portrait! Also very drawn to #215 for its play of light and shadow.
And thanks, Hans! And I believe I can hear the sweet music of your Celestial Harp. And Let It Snow is a bright visual celebration on these hot summer days.
This one reminds me of a wave coming in on rain specked sand at the shoreline—with a Ruth title inspiration. ;)
Swoosh And It’s Gone
July 29, 2022 at 4:29 am #542331
Keelin..yes you caught the up close and personal look on 216 and speakin of up close, nice layers of texture on the lacunosus (Swoosh)
July 29, 2022 at 9:32 pm #542417
Michael, so cool on #217. Spaceship like.
Incredible how abstract pictures call on our heads for interpretations. Love your Harp Hans and Keelin ” swoosh” is so clever!

Bumps In The Road
August 4, 2022 at 10:58 am #542975
Quite an impressive cloudscape Ruth in Bumps in The Road.
A Sleeping Dog Trying To Hyde Under The Carpet
August 6, 2022 at 6:53 am #543176
Hans, when dogs dream in smells..
August 7, 2022 at 12:58 am #543255
Love your Bumps in the Road, Ruth, and the playful splatter in #218, Michael.
Hans, I had to smile just reading the title of your Sleeping Dog… before even seeing the image. So very funny!
I think this bunny was just waking up.
Ready To Hop To It
August 7, 2022 at 9:03 am #543277
nice zig to the zag Keelin

August 18, 2022 at 6:31 pm #544434
You all have posted some amazing B&W’s. Ready To Hop it (by Keelin), A Snail’s Pace (by Ruth) and #210 (by Michael). Three wows!
August 19, 2022 at 6:00 am #544467
nice wind sculpture Hans!
August 19, 2022 at 5:14 pm #544526
Hans, terrific Hangover. Pretty happy I don’t have one this morning.
Michael, maybe it is early, but I think you caught a man flying in #221. Could it be superman.
My Big Glob
August 19, 2022 at 10:52 pm #544550
Oh these are all such fun!
Love the splashiness of #220, Michael, and the floating feelings in #219 and 221.
Ruth, you Snail’s Pace gave me the giggles. As did your Hangover, Hans. Both so cleverly titled.
And now we go from a Big Glob to another big glob or what might look to some like the figure of a woman being blown away by a big wind. This is what can happen when your hat and coat are made of just tooooo many feathers.
Plenty of Plumage
August 22, 2022 at 3:00 am #544742
Keelin, oh how I love feathers.
Bag Of Popcorn

Michael, cool. I like #223. May be a submarine.
August 30, 2022 at 6:47 pm #545734
Great variety in your latest images, Ruth and Michael. I especially like the floating feeling in #223, Michael, and the falling feeling in Hooked, Ruth.
Not Sure What To Think About This
August 31, 2022 at 8:34 am #545769
Well, I am sure what I think about “Not Sure What To Think About This”, Keelin. It is a beauty and I a cockatoo with a twig in its beak. Love it!
Number #223 is true abstract art, Michael, and I like to repeat the great sounding combination of words Keelin used for Hooked by Ruth: it gives a falling feeling.
Floating, Not Falling
September 2, 2022 at 10:08 pm #546054
oops: I see a cockatoo with etc. ……
September 1, 2022 at 4:27 am #545867
Thanks all! I’m enjoying all the free floating!
September 2, 2022 at 9:07 pm #546048
Front and Center

September 5, 2022 at 5:20 am #546245
September 5, 2022 at 10:08 pm #546337
Your #224 is amazing Michael. It is also free floating for sure. I love the composition and forms.
September 6, 2022 at 1:10 am #546352
Thanks, Hans! I didn’t see the cockatoo until you mentioned it, and it made me smile to find it too.
Front and Center also brought a smile, Ruth. Love the sketchy feel of it.
And Michael, great energy captured in your latest!
Now, back to Hans, Fractional is very intriguing. I keep seeing things in it that are delightfully surreal.
Hot here today (111˚) and not much better predicted for the rest of this week. We could use some rain clouds and…
A Good Squeeze Please (with Sprites, if you’ve got ‘em)
PS: Full disclosure: this photo is upside down. ;)
September 6, 2022 at 4:39 am #546364
Yes Keelin , the desert will take all the rain given too.. Historically, there should be one more good blast by mid month and then a slow decline to wearing jackets by the end of November. Nice capture even if its upside down
September 6, 2022 at 8:42 pm #546477
Keelin, hot here too. Looking forward to fall temps and autumn colors. A Good Squeeze is so cool and refreshing. Reminding of a sprinkler.
Hans, Fractional may have some Virga. May be my imagination.
Michael, love #224. Smokey.
September 7, 2022 at 9:03 am #546514
September 12, 2022 at 12:51 am #547191
Thanks, Michael. Hope that blast of rain comes through for you there. Love the landscape feel of #228.
And hope it cools off for you too, Ruth. Nice collection in your Shifting Shapes.
Not sure what question may have been posed, but the answer appears to be in Dutch for Hans. ;)
September 21, 2022 at 5:33 am #548431
Cool shot Keelin..like a Disney state of mind..
September 22, 2022 at 12:06 am #548505
Thanks, Michael! Looks like #229 is heading somewhere. Love the subtle shades of grey that define that impression.
Fire and Ice
September 25, 2022 at 6:03 am #548761
Keeelin, I see a horse and a owl
September 27, 2022 at 2:16 am #548880
Good eye, Michael! Love the illusion of over-the-edge flow in #230.
September 27, 2022 at 8:19 am #548890
Did you get a telephoto or zoom lens Keelin? Close up on the clouds is fantastic!
September 30, 2022 at 2:35 am #549121
Thanks, Michael! I’m still using my iPhone 11Pro, so it must be the clouds themselves that deserve the credit.
There is a sense of poetry to your #231 that is very appealing.
The photo below reminds me of the new season—like leaves falling, rain and wind.
Ode To Autumn
October 2, 2022 at 5:35 pm #549344
Keelin, yes Happy Autumn. Lovely photo of yours on the gallery last week. Alway fun to see a picture selected. I have been thinking of the lucky cloud spotter who made the trip to Yellowknife. Hope they experienced wonderful skies and friendships.
October 3, 2022 at 3:31 am #549369
Thank you Keelin, Yes cloud as that which elicits a feeling , a reaction.
October 5, 2022 at 4:42 am #549556
October 9, 2022 at 11:36 pm #550195
Heavy sky there, Ruth! Love the sweep of shapes — and the funny (tasty) title.
Michael, is that bit of glow in #232 the being moon shy? I keep lingering on the image, almost expecting its emergence. Perhaps it’s because the clouds below look to be in motion. It is fooling my eye!
The Layered Look
PS: Thanks, Ruth re Gallery posting. Oddly, I didn’t see it appear there until several days after it was apparently added. :? I’ve noticed that type of delay since the format changed awhile ago. Be that as it may, it’s always fun to see a favorite shared there!
October 12, 2022 at 7:06 am #550668
There is a implied motion , maybe a lot, in that shot Keelin. I shot that in High Contrast mode as with #231 and #227 The high contrast looses detail in blacks and highlites but pops the remaining greys out. As you say , the eye gets pulled in from below and is invited to leave by a radiating top. Lots of fun in your Layered Look!
October 17, 2022 at 11:19 pm #551926
Yes, sometimes the high contrast makes the drama… well, more dramatic. That said, you’ve always shown a keen eye, Michael, for making the most of those subtle gray tones.
Now something seasonal this way comes… Halloween!
Bat of White and Crow of Black
October 20, 2022 at 5:39 pm #552178
Keelin and Michael, always way cool B&W’s. Keelin, getting ready for ghosts and pumpkins.

I don’t know what it is and I am staying away from it
October 24, 2022 at 6:51 am #552463
October 25, 2022 at 6:16 am #552566
What I captured in 236 and 237 was a unassuming field of undulatus encountering the first hills leaving the Valley. The winds had a lot of fun with the undulatus.
October 27, 2022 at 6:28 am #552795
October 27, 2022 at 5:55 pm #552838
Michael, way cool photos in #236 and #237. Marching along.
October 30, 2022 at 12:46 am #553022
Yes, indeed, Ruth, it’s time for the clouds to bring it with Halloween approaching. I see they’re gathering in Crevices and Fanning Out!
And I’d avoid that wonderfully strange formation in #235, Michael. Although, if it produced #236/7, it looks like it might have something poetic to say. Love those soft lines and the splashy drama of 238!
Not sure what this is either, but I think I’ll stay away from it too.
Heading This Way?!
November 1, 2022 at 1:44 am #553245
Good Halloween’er there Keelin. And Yes Ruth, Im a sucker for fans in the sky. They are a lot of fun to play with in composing . Lots of energy in them.

November 4, 2022 at 10:33 am #553501
It has been too long since my last contribution. I still watched for all of your great ones above. Too any to mention, but #236 and #237 by Michael are unique. The return of Holmboe?
November 8, 2022 at 4:01 am #553908
Thanks Hans. Funny thing is when the undulatus was over head it didn’t even draw the need to be photographed. But when the field hit the hills the winds had their way, lots of unsettled choppy winds just tore the undulatus apart. Holmboe? heck yea! Lucky i had the camera programed for high contrast B&W . Also the lens was almost at the end of its reach..You are correct, much reverence in seeing and being able to photograph such a unique occurrence…You are getting up close as well in Details. such a fine sculpture!
November 10, 2022 at 4:03 am #554089
November 11, 2022 at 2:29 am #554178
Thanks, Michael. I keep returning to you #239—so textural and intriguing, and the delicate brush strokes of #242—beautiful.
And Hans, is there a devil in those Details?! Or just a bit of tortuous intortus? Wonderful capture!
Made For Each Other
November 14, 2022 at 4:19 am #554396
Thanks Keelin! I get lost every time I go into 239. Your Made for each other, Good Eye!.
November 14, 2022 at 9:15 pm #554463
Thanks Michael and it is great to read you have seen the Holmboe develop from undulatus. Great images. Clouds can develop in such a surprising way.
Now that you pointed it out Keelin, I can see the devil too in the Details. Now I realize that it would also fit in your Halloween series. Maybe Made For Each Other? Yes a good eye as Michael himself must have too to spot what’s on #242. Very feathery and light.
I tried to leave out any devil in next details but I am not absolutely sure I succeeded. I may be sure after a thorough inspection by Keelin. I look forward to it.

Tons Of Hoarfrost
November 23, 2022 at 4:02 am #555425
Wonderful fun in all the above!
Well, I don’t see any devil in More Details, Hans, just a great capture of a cloud clamshell. And what a sweet little Flowering in the garden of clouds. Really lovely.
Great hot-tipped highlights in #244, Michael, while #245 looks downright shivery.
Hope you’re keeping warm, Ruth! It may be grey days there, but I can see you’re still finding the beauty in them.

Fluff is alot of fun to explore Keelin, really got the highlites under control..light and airy.
November 26, 2022 at 11:22 pm #556104
Michael, #246 feels like a soft fibric. Keelin, well fluff is fluff. Hans, Flowering, should be spring somewhere.

December 4, 2022 at 11:57 pm #557125
Ruth, More Black Than White was a great surprise! It left such an impression that it inspired a dream similar to your photo. And then the clouds sailed away to reveal a pulsing moon halo of radiant iridescence. Thank you for that dream seed.
And Michael, thank you for kind words above. Your latest is exceptional. You caught the moment in the moment!

A fine tooth photo Hans!..that reminds me Keelin I have Christmas cookies still to be devoured!
December 29, 2022 at 8:44 pm #560171
Hans, Hairy Cirrus are the cutest little creatures. Good story material.
Michael, more fun creatures in #253.
Keelin, hope you are done baking this holiday. We just waited for friends to bring us goodies.

Thanks Ruth and Michael.
And Then Some Floss
January 1, 2023 at 1:45 am #560419
Michael, #253 is an absolute favorite and #454 is quite intriguing with its shadowy element.
Hans, Hairy Cirrus is an amazing capture with a very amusing title. I agree with Ruth about the story potential there. I bet you can even work in the Floss. So funny!
And Ruth, is that Santa’s Lift Off? Is he the friend you were waiting for? Hope he brought the goods! And thanks for sharing with us. ;)
