      Jimmy Wales was the guest on Desert Island Discs today. If you missed it here is another chance; the abstract gives a potted history of Wales. I offer this topic in tribute to Wales and the unsung community of content providers – always a good source of cloud info and invaluable as a means of passing a link in a Cloud Forum topic ( * ).

      * Wiki began in 2001, CAS in 2004, and Gavin Pretor-Pinney’s ‘The Cloudspotter’s Guide’ was published in 2006, ‘The Cloud Collector’s Handbook’ in 2009. I suspect Wiki and CAS have a synergistic effect. For some while after 2009 much of the Handbook was available on-line through the CAS (Old) Forum but was eventually withdrawn, leaving Wiki as a prime source of topic links.
