Catatumbo,, Venezuela – Lightning "capital" of the World – remarkable images

    Ever heard of Catatumbo, Venezuela, world’s capital of Lightning?

    Until a few days ago I knew nothing about the above.  I picked up upon an advert on my radio station, Classic FM, promoting travel and travel insurance to Venezuela to marvel the spectacular lightning occurring so frequently.

    Hi Laurence, your post did not go unnoticed. It is an incredible phenomenon. It was also featured as “cloud of the day” sometime in June, I believe. I quickly looked up the location … Venezuela. I’ll wait a while before I make plans to travel there, though it’s tempting. Thanks for sharing.

    Whatever your future travel plans maybe I sincerely wish you all the best and wonderful photography, not least, stunning vistas.  What a place to visit, eh?!?  Maybe you could at some time place some photos onto the CAS Gallery?
