The Egg Nebula is a pre-planetary nebula in the constellation Cygnus, about 1,000 light-years away from Earth. It’s composed of the gas and dust created by a dying star, with an inner cloud that casts powerful beams of starlight that illuminate the cosmic structure. Meanwhile, layers of gas reflect this bright starlight to create a ripple effect. Anyone up for a cosmic Easter egg hunt? You’ll need a big basket. This deep-space egg is about six trillion miles wide.
