Manuela Rettweiler, member 42844, recently contacted us about an exhibition that is currently showing in Cologne’s Wallraff Richartz Museum. It’s entitled Sunny with Cloudy Intervals and shows artwork by Netherlandish painters who in the late sixteenth century began painting the skies is a much more dramatic style, occupying up to 80% of the canvas. Some of these paintings include sheet lightning and cloud vortices.
The exhibition runs from 1 June 2017 – 4 February 2018
