Sunday 7th June 2026

Jean-Christophe Latournerie (Member 66,625) saw a Cirrus intortus cloud in the sky above Arles, France. It looks like he photographed it with a camera modified to record infrared light, making a black-and-white image that increases the contrast between cloud and sky. Intortus means ‘twisted’ or ‘tangled’ in Latin, and for Jean-Christophe, this Cirrus had twisted itself into the shape of an angel.
