Contrary to some urban myths, dogs can look upwards. The structure of their spines and the location of their eyes makes it difficult, however, for them to look at things directly above them. Perhaps this is why most dogs prefer to do their cloudspotting by gazing into surfaces like this pool. It’s just more comfortable that way.
