Description
Learn the cloud classifications, from common formations to rare and fleeting ones, with these handy Cloud Spotter Cards. They cover 30 different clouds types and optical effects, and they make a great gift for anyone with their head in the clouds. Each card has detailed information on one side written by Gavin Pretor-Pinney (Member 001) explaining the cloud’s distinguishing features and a beautiful painting of the formation by illustrator Marcel George on the other side. They also include info about the cloud’s rarity, its likelihood of producing precipitation, what its Latin name means – even the sort of mood its likely to induce. This set of 30 cards, with their accompanying little fold-out poster, is a cloudspotter’s resource that is beautiful, tactile and tech-free. Each pack is signed (on the card retaining strip) by the author. Use Cloud Spotter Cards for inspiration to keep looking up and as a reminder to spend a few moments each day with your head in the clouds.

Meryl Schneider –
Beautiful artwork. I was surprised to discover the set in German in a local bookstore. Well done! I’ll spread the word.
Rianne Meijer –
What a great idea! The only thing that stops me, unfortunately, is that no photos are used, but illustrations. Do you have any advice so that I can get over this?
Gavin Pretor-Pinney –
If you want photographs only, Rianne, we have other products you might want to consider, such as our Cloud-a-Day app or our Cloud Collector’s Handbook. Hope that helps!

I received this set today and the cards are wonderful! The watercolor illustrations are beautiful and the text on each card is witty and informative. They come in a nice box and there is even a handy information sheet included with a watercolor illustration of cloud formations at various altitudes. Fast shipping as well, they arrived here in the US only 7 days after I placed my order.

Thanks so much for your nice review, Carol. We really appreciate it!
