    Hard to believe perhaps, but the U.K. does get at least 50 per year, not counting funnel clouds and the ones that go unnoticed, in fact the most tornadoes per unit area of any country in the world. Fortunately they are usually of very low grade. Although sadly a number have indeed caused very severe damage, injury and loss of life.

    I wasn't really aware that the U.K. got Funnel Clouds, do you get many Tornadoes on that side of the pond? Fun and Scary capture at the same time.

    As far as I could see, the waves were being produced by the cloud which can just be seen on the right of the photo. This is the edge of a very large CuNim, and the wind at the time was coming from the east (the photo is taken looking north).
