    @william, this phenomenon [a Brocken spectre] can occur in stratus and other low-étage clouds when viewed from above, as the effect is caused by diffraction and refraction of light by water droplets, whereas Cirrostratus is an ice cloud =]

    This is a cirrostratus, you can see the Halo.
    and is listed as stratus.
