Driving east through Pennsylvania, towards the Allegheny Front that divides the Allegheny Plateau from the Ridge and Valley Appalachians, John observed this layer of stratus that had settled down into the valley, under some high cirrus clouds and contrails, spotted near the Allegheny Mountains, Pennsylvania, US

On a warm, sunny, and otherwise cloudless day, John said that an occasional and ephemeral puff would appear and disappear, which reminded him of William Wordsworth's "I wandered lonely as a cloud..." This isolated cumulus fractus was spotted over north central Indiana, US.

A varied sky that upon first glance, as John noted, looked like a cloud shaped like a Black Labrador Retriever leading a few storm clouds ashore. However, upon closer look, it's actually a cloud shadow that is cast onto the underside of the higher level Altocumulus clouds. This mixed sky was spotted over Vero Beach, Florida, US
