Hi Nienke, this was Tuesday April 8th just before sunset, there was hail that day and beautiful clear skies inbetween.
It would be great to see your same pic :) Did you send it in?

Beautiful! I have not seen any of these myself, yet.

Laurence Green says:
Lovely shot. You have captured something rather rare indeed. The Noctilucent cloud is usually some 80kms above the Earth and touching space itself.
Here is some brief but useful info about this rare cloud taken from NASA’s “Astronomy Picture Of the Day” (APOD) website:-
http://www.star.ucl.ac.uk/~apod/apod/ap130627.html
Hope this is of use to others here.

Thanks! -
A.J. Hidding says:
Hoi Nienke.
(dutch for when this picture was taken)

Nienke Lantman says:
Schitterend! Ik heb ze nog nooit gezien, hoe laat is dit ongeveer?

Actually the sun already had set, this is a reflection of the sun, some sort of sundog. It lingered on for quite some time, maybe half an hour.

Anthony Skellern says:
Sumptuous colour and wonderful texture in that sky – thanks A.J.

Whatever – its a cute cloud alright! -
Nienke Lantman says:
I wrote about the fun I always have watching clouds and that recently I sent many pics but they haven't been put in the gallery. The reason might be that I see more things in clouds than other people, as I am a 'trained' cloudspotter : )
-
I second whatever Nienke said lol :) Good pic. Well caught.
-
Nienke Lantman says:
Leuk! Gaaf he, wolken kijken!
Ik heb recentelijk zoveel ingestuurd maar ze zijn niet geplaatst helaas. Ik zie er teveel in denk ik : )
