Hot air balloons descending watched by a visitor (not really).
Duncan BulmanParticipantJust a lot of hot air
Duncan BulmanParticipantCheck out this guy for some common-sense advice.
Duncan BulmanParticipantMy advice would be to make sure you have a good quality wide angle lens, the best that you can afford. For convenience a zoom lens would be best. Any digital camera from the top brands will do. Don’t worry about expensive complicated software for post editing your photos as there are plenty of free options that will do the job just as well. Get something that you feel comfortable using and don’t fall into the trap of buying expensive gear that you may never use to its full potential. If you buy a digital camera make sure it has a viewfinder and doesn’t just have a screen otherwise you’ll find it difficult shooting in bright sunlight as the screen will be almost impossible to see. Also, don’t believe the hype about pixel count as more doesn’t necessarily mean better quality images. A good quality compact with a decent telephoto zoom would I suggest be your best option for starting out.
It doesn’t matter how much money you spend on a camera if you don’t have the basics of photography nailed down. Expensive equipment doesn’t make good photographs only skilled photographers do. Good composition, correct exposure, pin sharp focus and a bit of artistic flare will serve you well. Practice, experiment and have fun with your camera. The best thing about digital photography is that it doesn’t matter how many shots you take it’s not going to cost you any more unlike film which can very quickly become very expensive.
I hope that helps you to take the first steps on your journey.Duncan BulmanParticipantHi folks, it has been a while.
After so many days of just blue sky over the last few weeks the clouds have once again graced us with their presence and they didn’t disappoint.
Yesterday’s sky over the airfield. Honestly, the picture doesn’t do it justice it was much more sublime than any photograph can capture.
Duncan BulmanParticipantDuncan BulmanParticipantA rainbow graced us with its presence today and it brought along a friend.
Duncan BulmanParticipantA rainbow graced us with its presence today.
Seems apt to post this to the colour thread
Duncan BulmanParticipantAfter a foggy morning the sky turned to this. In the centre is a fallstreak hole, this is the second of two that appeared within about an hour of each other.
Duncan BulmanParticipantHans, I’m seeing the Phoenix bird. The symbol of rebirth.
Duncan BulmanParticipantAs if to celebrate Samhain (sah-win) a dragon breaths fire into the Autumn sky.
Duncan BulmanParticipantA beach at sunset – my second favourite place to be.
Duncan BulmanParticipantDuncan BulmanParticipantRuth,
Can it not be about both?
