Michael LerchParticipant..Its not an angle..its a distance..Degrees in this case refers to astronomic or celestial degrees..the sky is measured in degrees of a celestial dome..360 degrees in a circle..Hope this helps..Hold your hand out..Fully extend your arm. Spread your fingers apart. The distance between your tip of the thumb and the tip of your pinky finger is 20-22 degrees. So if you put your thumb on the sun the 22degree halo is out there where your pinky finger tip is..Have Fun!

Michael LerchParticipantSome apricot jam there Ruth reaching out to the last rays of the day. Hans and Keelin, you make me get to processing pics I’ve taken over the last few months, with the Blush work there. Ive been having fun catching the very last rays of the days. Nice work!

Michael LerchParticipantNice boil you captured Hans. Ruth you are going to have to be patient. Another Asperitas event occurred yesterday over Phoenix. Although it lasted the time it took to blow in and then blow out of the Valley from west to east it didn’t last long enough and seemed an eddy of a system passing thru rather than a major attraction. Its starting to look like another winter monsoon so Im hoping for a lot of Asperitas over the next 3 or 4 months.

Michael LerchParticipantHad a 4 hr session of asperitus a few days ago, the same day Santa Barbara Asperitus made the news with their, “Super Rare” sighting..Here it was like a show from 10am to 2pm with asperitus going on in every direction, just at different times. I hardly have begun processing the shots.
