Via the BBC’s Weather Watchers website comes marvellous images in the shortlist for 2017’s Weather Photographer Of The Year competition.

I really have much pity and sympathy with the judge(s) about selecting a winner amongst these truly beautiful images.  Which one would you choose?!!????

I am definitely partial to the white fog bow shot,,a rare phenomena captured well.

I would go for the Lenticular Pampa; I note the photographer Graham Niven also took the Solitree in N Sweden – he gets around.

Storm over Gibraltar was interesting – their shelf cloud looks akin to a tornado.

P.S. The Portsmouth picture says sunrise – that might be a bit misleading since it is looking rather northwards. See 22JUL2017 for other Spinnaker Tower pictures.

      This is like photographic crucifixion!

So many truly wonderful photos to choose as the one you most like best?   Well, to me, I like the one of the three walkers coming towards the camera taken atop of Severn Sisters (White Cliffs of Dover – song – Vera Lynn), near Beachy Head lighthouse (not far from Birling Gap) with the mist giving an ethereal enthronement to the overall setting.

Thank you Laurence for the last link with all the finalists. They are all wonderful pictures. There is also this fantastic black and white cirrus cloudscape, a colorful asperitas, Paris in the snow and…. too hard to choose and they are not even on the shortlist.
