Vertical clouds spotted in Sweden

Hi all,

We’re talking about the grey, vertical, hazy clouds in the front, not the horizontal in the back. Spotted over Sweden back in March.

My first reaction is that the clouds are virga. Yet, it could be shadows are playing with me and they are cirrus at a different altitude with cross winds. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I agree with Ann, my first take is that they are virga, perhaps old ones just about exhausted of their rain as the tops seem thin and dissipating….
