According to ts soft and large features I think it is Altocumulus. The second image has in comparison also the streaky features of Cirrus. That makes me think that some of the altocumulus has developed into cirrus (altocumulogenitus). What do you think?

December 13, 2024 at 10:45 am #628587Robert Pearson ParticipantThanks Hans. It makes sense to me what you say. It was a great cloud day with many changes over time. I have other photos of lacunosus but not with so little cloud fringe around the holes or so smooth. Here are three more photos showing how it was changing. I need to think about altocumulus developing into cirrus, new to my thinking about cloud formation.
