For weather enthusiasts in the UK, I recommend David Haig’s play “Pressure” which is on tour at present. It tells the story of the weather forecasting for the D-day landings in the 2nd World War, along with some of the personal stories of those involved. You really can imagine the huge pressure felt by Group Captain James Stagg, in charge of the forecasting for D-day, given the infant state of weather forecasting at the time.
