ParticipantThank you all. All great sunsets above with one crepuscular sunrise by Keelin.
And welcome Salil. Your great
sunset made me look for more on your website ithroughmyeye.com but I got the message the domain isn’t coupled with a website. Are you aware of that? I look forward for more from you.

ParticipantThanks for the comments on 802. I saw it developing from my backyard. When I couldn’t stand it anymore ,I ran off to the Park. Timing was everything. For the nimbus to blow out like that at upper elevation as the sun set..wow! I wasn’t the only one who got stopped in their tracks watching this one.

ParticipantWonderful captures above from everyone here. I keep returning to many favorites for another breath of beauty, especially Light On The Belly (Hans) and Evening Excitement (Ruth). All of you make me want to find a way to rearrange my schedule!
Alas, this is the closest I’ve come lately to stepping out at either end of the day.

ParticipantMy goodness everyone, it is great to see you all again. I apologize for being absent all this time, I hope I shall be posting on here more often from now on. Now where to start (I have gathered many many images over the past few months so I shall try to keep them in a steady trickle vs a large crashing wave). Over the summer, I got to fly back to Washington State to see old friends, and I took this lovely photo over I believe Missouri. I hope you enjoy!

ParticipantGorgeous photos, Duncan!
And, Gregory, so good to see you here! Always good to get the window seat, isn’t it? And what a scene you captured. Looking forward to seeing more!
Thanks, Hygee. The link did not work for me, but I was able to see the images by using the title you included.

ParticipantSo many beautiful images since I last caught up with you all here!
Ruth, those peachy hues you gather are just delicious. Also enjoyed your recent photos featured on the Gallery (foggy view from Moiese and dramatic skies over Charlo). And your End Of Day beckons like a dream.
Michael, #810 is a favorite with that subtle blush of pink and the composition you’ve captured.
Hans, Dissolving is decidedly dynamic!
Tim, the rich color you’ve captured in your Dec 16th image reminds me of a warm blanket I’d like to curl up with.
Gregory, what luck to see that pillar of gold!
And Duncan, The busy sky is simply captivating. All great images you’ve posted.

ParticipantDuncan, you posted recently soem special ones. A great sunpillar at sunset and nice play with symmetry.
Tim made a grand entrance with a great colored canopy which seems to be the underside of an approaching incus. Welcome Tim.
It is a nice gesture by Ruth to light a torch for you.
Early Morning Light has the refreshing crispiness of a sunrise, Keelin.

ParticipantHans, your French Sunset has me wanting to take a trip to France. Nice levels of colors.
Michael, #811 makes my mouth water for some pink cotton candy. A happy cloud photo.
Tim, keep them coming. This forum will excite the cloud spotter in you.
Duncan, I am a novice spotter, but your photo could be a radiatus formation at sunset. Is there any prize money?

This Evening’s Sunset is marvelous Duncan. And Element Of Surprise by Ruth is a surprise indeed. Nice golden rims.
And while Keelin is Approaching The Blue Hour (you captured the right moment for sure) next one is a bit later when the reds take over.

ParticipantI forgot to mention before Michael, but scrolling back I encountered again your marvelous Arizona Sunset #811, #812 and #813. They form a series of fluffiness with delicately and well balanced colors. And your #815 is evenly stunning imho. I am sorry not to mention other beauties.

ParticipantTim, Ruth, Duncan, Hans, Michael, what a collection you’ve brought to this topic. One after another, each image elicits an amazed ooh!, ah!, wow!
I’m rarely out at this twilight time, so appreciate all the beauty you’ve all been sharing here. On a rare occasion, I managed to catch this cloud murmuration.

ParticipantLovely sun-kissed clouds bookending the day! Pinks and purples, golden, molten hues. The colors and formations are truly amazing.
I seldom see Lenticularis in my area and had to pull off the road to properly celebrate their rare arrival.
PS: Loved your Arcus formation over Missouri River on the Gallery, Ruth. Hope you kept dry!

ParticipantHans, a nice calming photo you have shared. If you don’t mind I have a question regarding the Cloud A Day app. I understand you are involved with this informative app. I have the app downloaded to my smartphone. I have enjoyed the cloud information but I have yet to use this tool to assist with cloud ID. Does the photo that I may need help with have to be taken by that phone? Thanks

ParticipantThank you Ruth. I am not involved in the CAD app, but I know it is still work in progress. The plan is that it will replace the Cloudspotter app when it is ready. I have no idea when that will be. In the actual version of the CAD app I tried some things and see that the AI help with classification works well for the 10 main genera. The step by step wizard helps also with classifying your cloud. You can use a picture that is already on your phone to classify or you make one by clicking the camera icon. I think you will find out soon enough by some clicking, trying and playing with the functions.
Now I still use the Cloudspotter app for spotting clouds and phenomena, but it lacks the AI function and it lacks the marvelous CAD’s and their explanations. So for the Cad’s I use the CAD app. Oh, and btw, the CAD app aims to be cross platform so it will be not only available for apple but also for Android, etc. I am not sure about the status anyway.
Do you also use the Cloudspotter app, Ruth?

ParticipantHans, thanks for your app information. I have not ventured into using the CAD app for Android. I enjoy the cloud library from the app but have not used the step by step wizard or Cloudspotter AI. Looks to be a useful tool once you get going. I will use your suggestion and just start clicking. For fabulous cloud examples and information I love using the icon that is in the upper right hand corner of this website page. Tons of wonderful pictures and goes back years.

ParticipantYes, time for a lullaby Ruth. I love your Back To Present and Always A wonder. It is in the name. And Michael your last ones are fabulous and the ones I love most are #821 and #824.
After a lullaby and when the sun is set this Volume reaches the magical number 100. So volume IX has to rise soon.
