Red Sprites – highly elusive – marvellous photo here

Red Sprites are truly highly elusive and not much is known about them.

They are, by their very nature, extremely hard to capture with a camera.

Here, courtesy of the NASA APOD (Astronomy Picture Of the Day) website is a stunning photo of Red Sprites captured over the English Channel on 28th May last.  The image appeared on its website yesterday.
