      Is it possible for one to be able to tell how much rain a sky full of clouds might drop? Can the intensity of a flash flood or rain event be read in a cloud?

      Lisa, Good question!..Yes..but I believe the answers await you in a  college level courses in meteorology…Start with the average cumulus  is like 40 elephants..add the dew point and then off to some good physics get you the formulas you  mite be seeking..You have a lot of data available  from satellites, weather balloons and stations etc Science has quantified weather now that they’re able see  events  ahead of the time it takes to prepare….the clouds are only one part of the equation though..Consider, where? and when?..
