I assume all of us have made a cloud picture once in a while that somehow came out much, much better than we expected. I’m always a bit ambivalent about these lucky shots, because it never feels like I can take full credit for them… still, it’s nice to have them in the collection.

This was on my birthday last year, on the ferry back from the island of Borkum. That was a nice birthday present, I’d say. :-)

This one exceeded expectations as well, although I did try out several shots, so perhaps it doesn’t really count. :-)

Of course, in both of the above cases I was actually doing my best and hoping that they would turn out nice. So perhaps they don’t count as true ‘lucky shots’, but simply pictures that turned out nicer than expected. Maybe a real lucky shot is one that is snapped without any deliberation whatsoever?

Luck has to be enforced Eric. Only the result matters. Nice pictures from our northern part of the land.

Free sight in all directions on all clouds movements, so indeed a great clouspotting area were you live.

Thanks, Hans. I have to admit that, having moved here, it took me a while to get used to the flat and empty landscape at ground level. Then I discovered cloudspotting, and things began to look a lot better. :-)
