Concorde, in cloud form only, flies again!

A remarkable image, and well captured, taken of a cloud over the famous Ribbles Head rail viaduct, county Yorkshire, UK, released on BBC News website.

      Amazing, eh?!??!

‘BBC weather expert Paul Hudson said the natural phenomenon was technically called a roll cloud and was quite rare’

I suggest it’s technically the new ICA species ‘volutus’. How say you?

Fascinating indeed, Laurence. I remember being snowed up in JFK and watched Concorde fly in then out to my chagrin.

Thanks, Hygge, and glad you liked the photo.  I’ve not heard about the “volutus” you mention.  I must make a point of checking this at some point.

I wonder if the “Concorde” cloud is a twixt of a Roll Cloud or a Lenticular Cloud.  Hmmm….I go for the latter.
