-
October 2, 2025 at 4:46 am #661653
Michael LerchParticipantIts that time of year for them Ruth, rut season so Big Bull( 6pt?)there is on edge already . His harem is looking very healthy. Notice what they are eating. Thats what makes their meat lean yet tender I’ve been urinated on by a Bull elk, chased out an area by a Momma Elk with a yearling,( talk about noisy!,,bark like a crazy dog!),,and drove thru a herd of them at 2a.m. on a foggy road..at about 1 mile an hour….What were they doin out standing in the middle of the road??..Eating all the grass on the sides,,when no traffic is around.. Great shot Ruth thanks!

-
October 5, 2025 at 4:51 am #662051
Michael LerchParticipantI came up on a bull elk trapped inside a juniper pine bough. His antlers were so big they got all tangled up in the branches while I hiked by..but for a show of magnificent brute animal force,, sat and watched two males battle it out for 6 does…like arm wrestling but with their neck muscles and antlers..
