What a fine finale that was for Vol. X with the tumbling fun of Michael’s last two photos, Ruth’s delicious Morning Soup, and a Sea Of Clouds from Hans (<– I’d like to dive into that one with no need to hold my breath, even though it took my breath away).

Thanks for the launch to Vol XI, Michael. I can see we’re already off to another great start.

Michael, love the dance moves of those soft, wispy clouds in #112, and the variety of moods in your latest three.

And Ruth, that looks like a gentle start to the day there.

Today we’ve had an influx of floccus, pretty much covering the entire sky at times.

Thank you hygge! That shot was one taken on a chance…a lot of things were less than opportune , but I took the chance that there was enough there for me to work with. Took me around 5 minutes to process the shot that you see. I ought to take more chances. Maybe its a pileus,,but its pretty big for a pileus so its a lenticular formed by the air having to rise and to go over the congestus . In any case the lenny has a calming effect on the energetic congestus.

Love the photos Michael, Ruth, Hans and Keelin. I think this and Optical Phenomena are my favorite forums for sure.

Michael, wonderful thick energy filled cloud.  Is that a pileus?  It is something.  I have yet to spot that accessory cloud.

Yes, Pileus, Ruth.  All the physics that create our monsoon season is capped off by the occurrence of Pileus..no monsoon no pileus…well ok, pileus can happen outside a monsoon season. These shots are from the  July -August 2021 Monsoon Season. Your Last Lite is in the thick of twilite.

Some beautiful pileus shots Michael. Love their velvet appearance and #157 has also a great composition.

It’s hard to believe quickly we appear to be approaching another full count in the color thread! And what fine additions since last I’ve been able to post here.

Love the tranquility of Moving Through, Ruth.

Arizona #157 is, as well described, pure velvet, Michael.

And Hans, what a dynamic composition you’ve captured in Diagonal. That must have put your toes awiggle.

Thanks Keelin. Your Moving Over shows a great incus with mamma. Love it. I hope you did not get too wet when it moved over.

Michael your pileus shots are marvelous.

Michael, I must agree with Hans on your Pileus photos. They are amazing and feel so close!

Hans, fortunately, I was able to mover over just in time! Although, I sense you would share the same temptation to linger. ;) And I’m glad to see that your Swarm looks to be a friendly one. I’m not sure you could outrun them.

Below is just a small area of a larger scene that caught my eye for its snowy look.
