ParticipantWhat a fine finale that was for Vol. X with the tumbling fun of Michael’s last two photos, Ruth’s delicious Morning Soup, and a Sea Of Clouds from Hans (<– I’d like to dive into that one with no need to hold my breath, even though it took my breath away).
Thanks for the launch to Vol XI, Michael. I can see we’re already off to another great start.
On the day of wind shenanigans featured below, Aeolus put everything on an angle—even my hair. /:)

ParticipantThanks for your kind words Keelin!. That is a crop of a larger shot but I did edit out distracting stuff. Everytime I look at that I see something different and then forget what it was by the next time I see it.
Your Influx has a nice draw to it ,an undertow.
Ive been holding on to this one for 5 years. Time to let it go.

ParticipantThanks Ruth and Keelin. Some wild pictures from you all Ruth, Keelin and Michael. Especially Tendrils and Arizona Color #127 are striking. And why wait 5 years to post your #129 Michael? It is an intriguing and whirling composition in blues. What do you withhold more?

ParticipantSome gorgeous new images to delight us all above. Hans, Dashy is a liquid-like wonder. Definitely an all-time favorite. Ruth, I love that sense of beckoning you captured in Stripes No Stars. And Michael, is that a little figure doing a rain dance in #138? Looks like he’s getting some good results!

ParticipantA lovely sky, Keelin – just a hint of lacunosus in the upper left? I saw a small but fine example today which thrilled me; so I had to send all the ICA (International Cloud Atlas) explanations to the couple with me who wondered what on earth I meant.

Participant#139 is brilliant, Michael, technically, aesthetically, whatever.
I would urge all viewers to click and enlarge it – one could be in a glider heading for it.

ParticipantThank you hygge! That shot was one taken on a chance…a lot of things were less than opportune , but I took the chance that there was enough there for me to work with. Took me around 5 minutes to process the shot that you see. I ought to take more chances. Maybe its a pileus,,but its pretty big for a pileus so its a lenticular formed by the air having to rise and to go over the congestus . In any case the lenny has a calming effect on the energetic congestus.

ParticipantI think it’s just the lowest part of a rainbow, a double in fact. It’s not easy to see on this as the quality is somewhat reduced but to left, almost dead centre is a fainter segment of the second bow.

ParticipantFinally catching up here and am wowed by the many beautiful photos from all! Some favorites include Duncan’s Autumn (top photo), Michael’s #145, Hans’s Finger In Clay, and Big Rays by Ruth.
PS: Ruth, also loved the photo you took near Ronan recently eatured on the gallery. Calendar-worthy!

ParticipantI love Big Rays Ruth. Great play of light!
So funny Keelin, where you write that “the scene below had its match in the kitchen when whipped cream slid over the edge of a bright blue bowl.” I see this sad looking cow. I know why he is looking sad, knowing he must be in the kitchen for certain purposes?
Michael, your last four are all perfect, but the strange shape in #148 is my favorite.

ParticipantMichael, you have taken the lead on some wonderful posts. My vote is #150. That must have been a fun capture for you.
Hans, Stop Here is a beauty. Such a magical flow to the picture.
Keelin, Whip Cream is a perfect title. Did you have some wine in your kitchen? I’m off now to find something cold.
Gregory, Bubbles on your walk does make outside activity more exciting.

ParticipantYes, Pileus, Ruth. All the physics that create our monsoon season is capped off by the occurrence of Pileus..no monsoon no pileus…well ok, pileus can happen outside a monsoon season. These shots are from the July -August 2021 Monsoon Season. Your Last Lite is in the thick of twilite.

ParticipantIt’s hard to believe quickly we appear to be approaching another full count in the color thread! And what fine additions since last I’ve been able to post here.
Love the tranquility of Moving Through, Ruth.
Arizona #157 is, as well described, pure velvet, Michael.
And Hans, what a dynamic composition you’ve captured in Diagonal. That must have put your toes awiggle.

ParticipantMichael, I must agree with Hans on your Pileus photos. They are amazing and feel so close!
Hans, fortunately, I was able to mover over just in time! Although, I sense you would share the same temptation to linger. ;) And I’m glad to see that your Swarm looks to be a friendly one. I’m not sure you could outrun them.
Below is just a small area of a larger scene that caught my eye for its snowy look.
