      Be sure to check out the previous volume 17..There is a lot of fun in there by a some real cloud appreciators.

      Allow me to begin another volume of color cloud shots.I start off with a favorite pileus. Please contribute!

      Yesterday morning’s surprise was FOG! A rare visitor here. I took an early walk eager to see what was barely there to be seen.

      As I recall , some wind Ruth. It stayed west in its path to the north. Saw your beam in the Gallery and now this…with snow. You had some fun!

      Neat shot Ruth.!  Probably some left over cumulus or stratus rather than velum..Velum is usually smooth, sheet like. Velum is made by a cloud so it usually is close to the surface of a cloud

      Very nice hat cloud, Michael!

      Here are some clouds from this morning over the Netherlands. My guess would be cirrus fibratus but I’m not sure.

      Thank you Alvar. There is undulatus  in there with the fibratus indicating winds going in all different directions high up. System coming in!

      Like a citrus juicer those mountains get the last drop of moisture out of the atmosphere passing over.Neat shot Ruth

      So happy for you, Ruth!! And thanks so much for sharing your stunning photo with us. I didn’t know there was a possibility last night, so missed it down here. Today we have clouds rolling in with 100% rain predicted for tomorrow, but I’ll still check tonight. Hope the show continues for you!
