ParticipantSince I hijacked the end of volume XIX I might as well be the one to start the next volume.
So…something subtle to get the ball rolling.

ParticipantWow, Volume XX is there. Thanks for starting it Duncan. You must know Michael once started the first volume not even with a number. At the end of this new volume there must be posted about 20 times 100 B&W’s (maybe a bit less because of textual posts) = 2.000 B&W’s. And among them great masterpieces of abstract art of which Stieglitz could have been proud. Just to be continued after a great start with the play of lines by Duncan and the B&W cloudscape #201 by Michael.

ParticipantSomeone once told me it’s not a true B&W if it doesn’t have pure white and black. Otherwise, it’s just monochrome in grey.
So here’s my offering.

ParticipantWonderful recent additions from all of you!
Duncan, that’s a gorgeous skyscape you’ve captured in 50 shades. And Ruth, I never get my fill of your tranquil vistas over land or water. Michael, fantastical things seem to bloom above your head. Lucky for us, you keep your camera within reach. And same is true for you, Hans. I see both the Horse Head and a soap-bubbly rabbit heading in the opposite direction! Also love the joyful reach in Mirrored Patterns.

Spilt Milk is great Ruth and Incoming Tide looks like we have to run, Keelin. And then there is also the mysterious #205 by Michael. Great composition it has.

As for Sticky or Burning? A wonderfully intriguing photo, Hans! And a good question. If it’s not too much of either, it might make a nice home for some underwater creature.
Below is one I think would find it attractive. It reminds me of another I spotted and posted almost exactly two years ago (further below). A relative perhaps?

Michael, #214 could have some claws for defense. One to think about.

ParticipantNice Lacunosus Ruth! And Thank to you and Keelin for the comments on 230. Another weird shot that caught my eye by the way of the undulations in the bottom 3rd of the pic. It looked like alphabet was in there so I took the shot on reflex, proof the clouds talk to me. I don’t know what they are saying but theres something being said there.

ParticipantLove that lacy look, Ruth, and the feathery sweep, Michael.
And I couldn’t agree with you more about the clouds having something to say. Now and again, they even appear to adopt remarkably recognizable letterforms. While one may look to the sky and ask Why?, the mind working its way into a tight philosophical tangle. Ever playfully, the clouds may clearly respond…

ParticipantI must agree with Ruth and Hans on the beauty of #235, Michael. That said, your comment verifies how images can evoke a variety emotions for each viewer. I hope the sadness will fade like fog.
And surely, Hans, your fantastically Strange Two-Eared friend could have come from the abyssal depths! It reminds me of the amazingly real creatures written about in The Book of Barely Imagined Beings by Caspar Henderson (a remarkable read!). It leads one to wonder: How deep is the sky?

i checked the book The Book of Barely Imagined Beings by Caspar Henderson. Seems to be fantastic and this one reminds of The Deep by Claire Nouvian. It is amazing what strange forms creature can have underneath your marvelous Abyssal Depth.
