David Oscarson, supporting member 40914. Recently composed a poem, “Figures in the Sky”, while traveling across the high plains of Texas, USA. He also took the accompanying photograph of high crystalline clouds. Some are shaped like feathers and there appears to be a small animal’s head emerging from the clump of cumulus clouds to the right.
Figures in the Sky
An expanse that appears to stretch forever.
We can perceive the edge of the earth.
Some call it flatland, others call it home.
Above this world spreads a celestial sphere.
Enclosed in this sphere we gaze skyward.
Observing clouds of crystals floating above.
Looking for shapes identified in our minds.
Appearing with the sunrise, floating all day.
Figures that bring some meaning to life.
