Carolyn Hyde (Member 45,038) spotted this finger of cloud reaching down from a dark cloud base over St. Bees Head, Cumbria, England. It is the spinning, funnel-shaped feature known as a tuba. In the context of powerful storms, tubas can develop into tornados, but they’re not always dangerous and destructive. Sometimes, it seems, a cloud just wants to reach down and see what the ground feels like.
