Mat, a friend of William Barker-Wyatt (Member 33,927), was sailing his boat back to Pittwater, near Sydney, Australia when he spotted a textbook display of Cirrus vertebratus clouds. These high ice-crystal clouds are shaped by the upper-level winds into ribbed bands that resemble a fish skeleton. Though Mat had been competing in a boat race during that day, it seems his journey home turned into an evening cloud-fishing trip.
