To Kit Beuret (Member 63,425), this tangled cloud over Kailua, Hawaiʻi, US looked like delicate, outstretched wings. It is known as Cirrus intortus – the form of the high ice-crystal cloud Cirrus that is named with the Latin for ‘twisted’ or ‘tangled’ because its streaks are not aligned in one direction but instead go this way and that. This cloud is, as Kit puts it, ‘a fleeting host that graces earth and sky.’
