Nancy Risenhoover (Member 57,110) shared this view by her son Owen of Cumulus clouds from the campus of Washington State University, Washington, US. The cloud reflections are in the windows of the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU. The glass building actually has a striking crimson colour, but not when viewed at a shallow angle like this. That is when the colour disappears, and it becomes a huge mirror.
Reflected in this way, the Cumulus mediocris and Cumulus fractus formations appear as a huge white Rorschach inkblot of the sky. ‘I wanted to highlight the asymmetry of clouds and trees,’ said Owen, ‘showing nature isn’t perfect – and that it’s gorgeous for it.’ We couldn’t agree more.
