On a whale-watching tour off the coast of Dalvik in the north of Iceland, Heather Rotondo (Member 28,017) saw a sky full of Stratocumulus clouds. Beams of sunlight, known as crepuscular rays, appeared as the sunlight was scattered by atmospheric haze. They shone down onto the water, giving the whales shimmering lights to dance in. Here, we see the fluke of a humpback submerging after it surfaced to admire the morning clouds. ‘Everything about that day was magical,’ said Heather.
