Volume 9 hit 100 with a nice orange glow sunset from Ruth and 99 other cool sets and rises. You should check it out if you missed it or if you just want to look at all the fun again.
So allow me to begin Volume X (ten) of photos of set and rises with some fun I had last July.

-
November 22, 2023 at 3:58 am #589521Michael LerchParticipant
Nice shot Ruth, nice rich sunset color as with your photo Hans and the blues!..Thanks to you both for your comments. It all starts with how the shot is being programmed to be recorded. I haven’t used Auto in years, and sunsets are tricky, with everything changing quickly and ever decreasing light. Take lots of shots and make each one different ,vary your exposures, etc. .Its also nice to have clouds so willing to put on a show. I still don’t know how I got this shot tho
Arizona Sunset#112

November 22, 2023 at 5:12 pm #589564Ruth QuistParticipant
Michael, you are so correct, nice shot. I am not great with camera settings. I tend to use intelligent auto. Which is brighter than me.

Nice marmalade set and thanks for your kind words. Ruth, That shot and the one below taken a few minutes apart were made possible with a good zoom telephoto. My dear friends it has been too long since I have posted here. I don’t blame you if you don’t remember me, but I used to be very active on these forums. I believe it is finally time to come back and begin posting again, as I really did forget how beautiful this community is. Anyways, here’s one of my favorite sunsets as of recently. I took it right after storm chasing in the Midwestern U.S.

-
November 8, 2024 at 3:45 am #624355Gregory VenarskyParticipant
Ruth and Michael, both of your photos look phenomenal. I must say storm chasing is an exciting venture, but I’m definitely not nearly equipped enough for the “big stuff”. That’s ok though, I still enjoy my fair share of cool storms. Speaking of which, here’s one from last spring.
-
November 8, 2024 at 11:15 am #624393Hans StockerParticipant
Arizona Sunset #136 looks like a ghostly Billy, Michael. Love it.
As I do the last softly colored sunset by Ruth titles Thinking Cranberries and the fiery last one as well.
Gregory your return here with Golden is marvelous. I see a lonely warrior on a horse riding into a hostile burning distance. Could have been the Lord of the Rings.
