ParticipantHi Gavin
im a little unclear about the “supporting”, member option. Im already a member and would like to contribute more to the society, but im confused with the supporting package. Would it mean i get another certificate with a different member number?along with the one i already have?. Or am i reapplying to be a new type of membership which runs in parallel with my original one?. Im befuddled…..help

ParticipantYes it’s a bit of a rummage, but go to the foot of the page, the grey box and look at “Upgrades for existing members”. All is clear there. You keep your existing membership number etc, but get the new add ons, Cloud of the Day, shop discount etc. You don’t have to pay the one off £10 set up fee for new members. Hope that’s clearer.

Gavin Pretor-PinneyKeymasterYes, Geoff is right, everything stays the same as it currently is for all our existing members – their Member Number stays the same and they continue to get our occasional newsletter as well as member discounts here and there. All our current members now, however, have the option to subscribe to our Cloud-a-Day service. They can do this either by getting a standard Member Upgrade (which brings a few other benefits like 10% off the shop) or, if they want to help the society grow and develop, they can become a Supporting Member, which gets them 15% off the shop and will bring free access to the video courses we are working on for the future, as well as the web conference we have planned.
We were delighted to see that you have, like Geoff, decided to try out being a Supporting Member. If you choose to stick with the subscription it will be really fantastic to have you onboard a Supporting Member. We hope you’ll find the Cloud a Day a good way to start your morning.
