Helen Crawley (Member 50,003) spotted asperitas cloud features over Wells, Somerset, England. Like the undulatus cloud variety, asperitas can resemble ocean waves in the sky. Unlike undulatus, asperitas clouds lack any order or regularity. They’re the sort of stormy seas you wouldn’t want to sail. Helen had driven up a hill to observe an approaching storm front, only to find asperitas clouds waiting for her when she got back home. ‘I’m a dedicated storm chaser,’ she told us. ‘But sometimes the best clouds come to me.’
