Wow, glorious! Great capture!
Full marks, John! I fully agree with Lynne’s comment which says all.
Good shot. A cloudy celestial vault.
super capture John
A great and well captured moody and threatening shot – typical of the so called, “Great British summer”!
Very atmospheric. I like your photo much indeed. Thanks for the viewing.
John, I like this type of shot indeed. It appeals to me much. 5* from me!
Certainly a nice moody shot, John. Your photo appeals to me. Thanks.
A very atmospheric and dramatic shot, John. Thanks for giving us members the view you were fortunately able to see and capture. Marvellous!
Your photo is now my current screen saver – it makes for a great image, for sure!
Thanks for sharing this evocative and dramatic shot with us. I love rainbows and I appreciate your photo much.

Lovely shot, John, now my current Screensaver! A symphony in blues, greys and whites. Very moody with tons of atmosphere and gravitas. Love it!
AWESOME!!!!! THANKS for sharing this one John, it’s a Stunner!!!
Wonderfully silky folds, John! They create a very special atmosphere here.
Everything looks slippery, even the clouds. Very nice
Beautiful image, John. Classic & timeless landscape, with a glowing sky that just seems to stretch forever…
Stunningly beautiful scenery! Masterly photography!
I have taken in the view from this spot for exactly 50 years and having worked in the Met Office from 1947 to 1950 I can appreciate the superb cloud formation. I have spoken to John Spur on the promenade here many times but it was only two days ago that he told me of his interest in photography. The photograph is outstanding as are the other photographs he took with the Sunderland lighthouse in the background – see wwwdpreview.com. The award winning one under the catagory of Waves is exceptional and the one of the Tanker entering the harbour is an absolute joy.
Beautifully ethereal picture, John – love it!
Wonderful, timeless image. Serene and mysterious.
Thanks for the compliments. Even a dull day can provide decent photographs. Sometimes!!!
Full of mystery here – What is happening? Are they fishing? Are they in trouble? So many questions – A great shot !
thank you John!!!!
The composition is lovely and I like the, nee, monochromatic tones depicted here. As John (photo author) rightly says, “Even a dull day can provide a decent photograph”.
Indeed, it does – and to good effect! Well done, John!
Looks like an invasion….. : )
A great expanse of sky, beach and cloud,John.
I like all these clouds, but which is the best? There’s only one way to find out….
Beautiful sky, John – what a great day for a walk along the beach.
A gorgeous cirrus momment caught here, John ;)
Lovely photograph, John.
That precise composition makes the most of a sky that’s full of energy & movement.
A very special formation with all these fine layers! :)
Cool cloud, John!
LOVE the positioning of the lamppost. And the cloud formation is kool, too :)
