    Hello Jodie

Thanks for the appreciated reply and filling in the background details about your lovely photo. Most interesting.

Given the incessant rainfall across the UK of late I would imagine the waterfall over the Cove is performing, M well. A dry waterfall once more rejuvenated! HURRAH!!!

    Hi Laurence
thanks for your comment, Yes I did know about the waterfall coming back to life, although,it was barely a trickle the day we visited….
I read about Malham Cove in Geography text book in 1983,and have wanted to visit ever since, took me that long!
We went two days after the unusual water fall.

As we were walking towards the cove,I as ever am looking up and was treated 1 minute display of these Mammatus ,I was so excited, started getting other walkers to stop and look.
No one argued and everyone was amazed.
Always feel previliged at sights such as this.
We had had hail in our faces earlier on the top of the cove,so wasnt surprised

    Hi Jodie

    Thanks for this.

I am quite familiar with Malham Cove having undertaken wonderful walks in this stunning part of the Yorkshire Dales.

The ghastly weather and unrelenting rain we have been experiencing has, as you may know, brought back “to life” the ancient and dry waterfall at the Cove.

The link, hereunder, gives photos and videos of the remarkable happening. The clouds have given us a rare bit of theatre:-
