Hans StockerParticipant
I agree with Keelin. The Monsooner Sunrise pictures made me look at my archive with new eyes, Michael, now being equipped with the description of the manner in which you produced these fantastic blues.
I did not find (yet) something in my archive that came close, but here is one result that might be very different but shows nevertheless a satisfying example of the given way of post-processing ( I think).
Hans StockerParticipantThe Cloud Of Unknowing
Hans StockerParticipantHa, over and over surprising posts! I always like to devote some notes about them. First the view through a veil on a Landscape of Uncertainty. A very creative and witty reply with the granularity you applied, Keelin. Then the lonely Hyena is a great finding and composition. The tangle of Matter and Ghost is a perfect title for the lovely cloudy chaos from Keelin. And secondary it made me learn that there exists an interesting book about the late Buddhist singer. I have great memories of some performances of him.
I like to post a follow up on each theme having collected the last two months a lot of black and white candidates impatiently waiting to be shared. So ….
Moonlit Prairie
Hans StockerParticipantThank you Laurie.
I hope I am right, but is it you that posted a picture of a cumulonimbus on 31th of May this year? When yes, I should say share more of those on the gallery. This could have been a Maxfield Parrish view with a mighty cumulonimbus in the pinks and blues of the sunset.
It seems you live in the same region as Michael who once started the first Black & White topic on the forum. He wrote a few times about the monsoon conditions in Phoenix Arizona. He also sends spectacular pictures to the gallery, I guess almost on a monthly basis. Just check on the gallery. I imagine you have fantastic cloud spotting opportunities over there and I think you will find your own way in finding the answer of overdoing or not. I look forward to see one of your monsoon sceneries in the gallery. The forum you already found. Good luck!
Hans StockerParticipantVery nice, these feathers tickle the inspiration.
Next one is very different, spotted today on the edge of an upcoming front.
The Long Black Veil
Hans StockerParticipantCongrats George, great impression!
Hans StockerParticipantLight As A Feather
Hans StockerParticipantOffer accepted! Thank you Keelin.
For a change this is an original non-photo-shopped picture except for the conversion to black and white.
Another Offering Of Light dedicated to Maxfield Parrish.
Hans StockerParticipantHello Laurie, you made me remember his work, especially Ecstasy I remember well.
Googling I found in wikipedia the following text: “He is known for his distinctive saturated hues and idealized neo-classical imagery”.
And this is what triggered me to reply now, because I was working on an image for the topic “Monsooner sunrise” in which Michael explains his working with hues and saturation and in which he shows some astonishing examples of early morning cumuli (just check), As a contrast I planned to to produce one that was made at sunset in stead of the untimely early sunrise. The result however made me remember your topic of Maxfield Parrish and I concluded that the result is more at place in this topic. What do you think?
And thanks for making me remember!
Hans StockerParticipantIt is the little something that does it Keelin. It betrays there must be something mysterious going on….
Seen From The Depth
Hans StockerParticipantHaha, you are right about my early rising Keelin. I remember to have jumped out of bed for the picture you mention on the gallery. Breakfast had to wait. And it was indeed a beautiful start of the day.
I am also curious about more watercolor effects, so be it taken in the late afternoon as far as I am concerned….
Hans StockerParticipantYou have done something very special with the colors Michael. Typically your style imho, i.e. the style I also recognize in your black and whites.
I admire your perseverance to go up so early. Morning hours are difficult hours for me personally, so I prefer sunsets, but I am sure I must have missed a lot that way.
Conclusion: good plan to listen to your inner voice!
Hans StockerParticipantIn Depth Coincidence
Hans StockerParticipantIndeed a f fresh start with your turbulent windy seascape in the wake of the dolphins, Keelin.
Next a mysterious atmosphere in Fog from Michael, showing a cumulus looming from the foggy surroundings almost like an approaching boat. Fantastic.
There Is A Lot Going On
Hans StockerParticipantLuck has to be enforced Eric. Only the result matters. Nice pictures from our northern part of the land.
Free sight in all directions on all clouds movements, so indeed a great clouspotting area were you live.
