Thank you Laurence for the last link with all the finalists. They are all wonderful pictures. There is also this fantastic black and white cirrus cloudscape, a colorful asperitas, Paris in the snow and…. too hard to choose and they are not even on the shortlist.
Hans StockerParticipantLots Of Gentle Colors
Hans StockerParticipantThank you Michael. And …. your feelers made me remember the ingenious Cloud Doodles, you once introduced. I see some resemblance with Feelers although there is also a lot of difference, mainly in the cloud-context. It is nice to scroll through the pictures of the thread Cloud Doodles again and reread you text. Next one comes close…
Hans StockerParticipantTo repeat what Micheal wrote: “As Always..what is discovered along the way, may surpass the original vision. That is the fun of exploring.” I agree fully with these statements. But I am singing the blues for not being able yet to create such clear bright blues like you and Keelin do. On the other hand I am happy to have some surprising results in playing with brightness and contrast in midtones in pictures with iridescence. This thread has triggered to find my own somewhat heuristic approach enhancing color. So thanks!
Hans StockerParticipantWith the zodiac sign Lacerta I felt tempted to let the bat(man) return like you foresaw Keelin in a former thread, but I didn’t want to disturb Michael’s pond again with another dangerous celestial creature.
Now someone else makes his return.
Miro Revisited
Hans StockerParticipantThis Is Not a Sunset but for some reason I see this large animal, can ‘t help….
Apart from this strange inclination of the mind to see things in clouds it really is a beautiful abstract with great play of darkness and detailed bright whites, thus giving the feel of a zodiac sign. Intriguing.
For some reason this elephant seems to follow me. I am not paranoia and it is not a pink one.
Circus Cumulus
Hans StockerParticipantCircus Cirrus
Hans StockerParticipantThe daily news in the Netherlands dedicated several items this week to the consequences of the rising temperatures for the permafrost in Alasca (among other regions). The permafrost disappears and leaves giant craters in the landscape. In the melting process stored CO2 and methane comes free both being greenhouse gases, thus accelerating the process of warming the climate in a way that even surprised scientists. A time bomb being triggered already. Is this also elsewhere an item for the news?

Hans StockerParticipantThat is a really Cool picture Keelin and a refreshing idea when it is so hot.
Another Refreshing Undulating Seascape
Hans StockerParticipantMAY 19 is on fire, Michael!
Too pity the sky is cloudless over there, Keelin but spelunking certainly had its benefits!
This One Has Grown And Came Near To Drop Its Burden
Hans StockerParticipantIt is good to take a plunge in the waves topic every now and then.
Rising Waves
Hans StockerParticipantCloud With A Twist
Hans StockerParticipantThank you Keelin for your kind words, and even in Dutch. Hartelijk dank! So let’s weave further on our communal tapestry to speak in your own well found words. Mind Over Matter and An Entirely Different Matter are both perfect abstract continuations on the theme.
A Matter Of Light
PS, a somewhat different matter: after I found a follow-up in choosing a title that matters, I found out that “a matter of light” leads via Google to the site of an Australian photographer (link). He has a gallery dominated by pictures of mainly animal life, but also just a few abstracts that come close to our cloud abstracts. Furthermore he published some tutorials on photo-shopping, for example about noise reduction. I think they are interesting to know about.
Hans StockerParticipantWelcome Felicity! You’re too modest. I like the picture very much and the scenery is doing very well in black and white. Thanks for sharing. I suppose it is also doing well in color on the gallery. I hope to see more from you.
